Welcome, fellow gardeners!

Annual Sale

Welcome to the 2024 Friends of the Oak Park Conservatory Plant Sale!

We are pleased to host this popular fundraiser for the 35th straight year and are delighted to offer you thousands of plants grown in our Conservatory greenhouses.

This year’s selection includes longtime favorites as well as many new, exciting varietals. We have added a new option for small space gardeners--look for Kitchen Minis.

In honor of our 35th Anniversary, guests who purchase $150 or more will receive a beautiful bonus plant! The Cuphea ignea ‘Dynamite’ or Cigar Plant ‘Dynamite’ features interestingly shaped red tubular flowers that grace these plants’ shiny dark green leaves. A pretty trailer in hanging baskets.

Our Plant Collection

All plants are grown in our own greenhouses using integrated pest management (IPM) practices. We offer our plants in 4-pack, 4-inch, or 6-inch pots. This year many of our edibles such as tomatoes and squashes will come in environmentally friendly compostable CowPots.

Many of our offerings are pollinator-friendly, providing nectar and/or pollination opportunities for native insects including bees, butterflies, moths, flies, and hummingbirds: These plants are marked with an image of a bee.

While we strive to keep the accuracy of the website as high as possible, please note that plants are subject to change. Should a specific plant suffer from crop failure, we will select an appropriate substitute or refund that part of your purchase.

All sales are final.

Plant Sale Volunteers Needed

SIGN UP TODAY

Do you love plants? We need you! We are expanding our volunteer base and have an immediate need for help in the Ops Room for our upcoming Plant Sale. New volunteers need to sign up to volunteer, have an interview with our Volunteer Program Coordinator, and pass a required background check. You can learn more about our volunteer program HERE

The Friends work in partnership with the Park District-owned Oak Park Conservatory and their staff providing volunteers for a variety of jobs. Most of our opportunities are in the early mornings and afternoons Tues-Fri. We have some special events on evenings and weekends as well.

We invite you to join this dedicated team of volunteers.
