What collections are available for purchase this year?
Our plants are divided into two main collections: Edible Garden and Ornamental Garden. Within each collection, plants are listed in alphabetical order with botanical name first, followed by common name.
Additional collections are available to showcase special groups.
How do I search for plants?
Find the magnifying glass in the upper left side of the page. Type the plant name (common or botanical) in the search bar.
Is there an option to filter my search if I am having trouble finding what I am looking for?
Filters are another way to find plants of interest. Once in a Plant Collection page, use the drop down filter located on the upper left hand side of the page. You can search by light requirements (such as shade or sun) or categories like pollinators, heirlooms, perennials, or new offerings.
Can I return a plant?
All sales are final.
While we strive to keep the accuracy of the website as high as possible, please note that plants are subject to change. Should a specific plant suffer from crop failure, we will offer an appropriate substitute or refund that part of your purchase.
For more details see our return policy here.
When can I pick up my order?
At checkout, you will be prompted to choose a pickup time between May 4-7. We will send a reminder when your scheduled date approaches, but please remember to block your desired time/date on your calendar.
Can I place an order without selecting a pickup time/date?
Orders are available for pick up only, May 4-7. Some exceptions may apply.
We ask customers purchasing 35 or more plants to select Monday, May 4th as your pick-up date. If that time is not available at checkout, chose another time, and we will coordinate to adjust your date.
For questions please contact us at operations@fopcon.org.
Where can I find my pick up time/date on my order confirmation?
Your confirmed pick up time/date will be located at the top left of your confirmation. If you do not see it, please email operations@fopcon.org.
What do I do if I can't pickup my plants?
If you cannot make it to your selected day and time for pickup, your best option is to send a family member or friend to get your plants. If this is not possible, give us a call, or send us an email (operations@fopon.org).
Where do I pick up my order?
Pick up will take place through the alleyway of the Oak Park Conservatory (615 Garfield St). Detailed instructions will be emailed to each customer.
If I place multiple orders throughout the duration of the Plant Sale, will I be able to have the same pickup date?
Yes! This is a requirement when placing your order(s). When placing your orders, be sure to select the same pickup slot for ALL orders. This will alert our team to prep all orders under your name together.
What do I do with my pots?
This year many of our edibles such as tomatoes and squashes will come in environmentally friendly compostable CowPots. These CowPots can be planted directly into the soil.
Your plastic pots can be returned to The Conservatory at our Spring Plant and Tool Exchange. See details below.
Do you use neonicotinoids for pest management?
No, our plants are not grown using neonicotinoids; we rely on integrated pest management practices and biological controls instead.
